Samurai Showdown was released in 1993. It was billed as the first fighter with weapons. The series currently has five titles to its credit.

King of Fighters 94 was the first team fighting game. A new version has been released every year.

World Heroes 2 Jet by ADK 1994. Although World Heroes is often criticized for being a Street Fighter clone, it features solid gameplay, great artwork, and dangerous arenas.

Galaxy Fight by Sunsoft.

Karnov's Revenge by Data East. A version for the SNES was produced called Fighters History.
