Amiga CD32 3/4 view

The Commodore Amiga CD32 was released in 1993. Despite the claim on the box it was not the first 32-bit game system, that title is held by the FM Towns Marty. As its name suggests it is a Compact Disk based system. It is in essense an Amiga 1200 computer without the drives and the keyboard. Expansions were released so that such devices could be attached to the CD32. As many games were produced on Amiga computers, the CD32 was a natural platform for games.

The system is based on a 68EC020 chipset running at 14 MHz. It has 2 megabytes of RAM. Like all 32-bit systems it has a palette of 16 million colors. However it can only display 256 simultanously. The system features a double speed cd rom.
