Gameboy Archive

The Nintendo Gameboy was released in 1989 and was still being sold almost a decade later. In 1997 a thinner version of the Gameboy was released called the Gameboy Pocket. Soon after, the long awaited Gameboy Color was released.

The original Gameboy featured a green screen which displayed four different shades. Its resolution was 160x144 pixels. The system uses an 8-bit Z80 CMOS running at 4.19MHz as its cpu. It has only 8 kilobytes of ram. The system supports 40 sprites of 8x16 or 8x8. It has a 4 channel audio system with stereo sound via headphones.

Nintendo GameBoy
The Gameboy was the first system to have network capability. A four player adaptor was released in the mid-90s. An adapter called the Super Gameboy was made so that you could play Gameboy games on the Super Nintendo.
