The Nintendo Gameboy was released in 1989 and was still being sold almost a decade later. In 1997 a thinner version of the Gameboy was released called the Gameboy Pocket. Soon after, the long awaited Gameboy Color was released. The original Gameboy featured a green screen which displayed four different shades. Its resolution was 160x144 pixels. The system uses an 8-bit Z80 CMOS running at 4.19MHz as its cpu. It has only 8 kilobytes of ram. The system supports 40 sprites of 8x16 or 8x8. It has a 4 channel audio system with stereo sound via headphones. |
