Video Game Gazette

Hyperscan Archive

Several video game systems were released in the fall of 2006. Amongst these were the Playstation 3, and the Nintendo wii. Given the fact that these juggernauts were just hitting the scene, one might have thought that it was not the best time to release a new system. That did not stop Mattel from releasing the Hyperscan. It was not designed to compete directly with the big systems. Rather, it combined elements of a collectible card game and a video game. It featured RFID (radio frequenfy identification) technology that allowed information from cards to be imported into the video game. It also had a very low price point, and sold for less then $70.00.
