The Pioneer LaserActive CLD-A100 was released in 1993. With a price tag of $970.00 and expansions that cost $600.00 it is the most expensive home system to date. It is also the only laserdisc video game system.

The CLD-A100 itself is a high end laserdisc and cd player. To play video games one of two expansion modules are needed. The first expansion module, called the PAC-S10, allows the play of Sega Genesis games. It has a cartridge port and two joystick ports. The module supports the play of Sega CDs, as well as Mega LD ROMS. The second expansion, the PAC-N10, allows the play of Turbo Grafx 16 games. It has a HuCard slot and a joystick port. The module supports the play of CD ROMS, Super CD ROMS, and LD-ROMs. The system also had a Kareoki module, the PAC-K1, that sold for $350.00. The expansion modules plug seamlessly into a slot on the lower left side of the A100.
