In the mid 90s there was a push to integrate video game systems, computers, and television. The 3DO is a prime example of such a system. Apple computer decided to try its hand at such a system. This resulted in the production of the Pippin @ World. It is essentially a Power PC Macintosh housed in a console. It featured a CD-Rom drive, and some decent joysticks. The unit was sold in Japan by BanDai as the atmark Pippin. Sadly the Pippin never really sold well because of its high cost. |
