Hasbro POX

POX had a limited release in Chicago in 2000 to test the game. Hasbro released it nationwide the following year. It was the first RF wireless LCD handheld.

Three POX Containment Units were produced.
The red unit has Spino infectors.
The green unit has Cycro infectors.
The blue unit has Plasmo infectors.

The Spino infectors are the strongest and their attacks do the most damage. The Cycro infectors are the quickest and strike first. The Plasmo infectors are deceptive and stun their opponents.

The containment unit lets you create your own custom infector from the various heads, bodies, and tails that are available. You then program it with a combat sequence to choose the order in which the parts attack.

Each unit features a one player game called The Arena. In it you explore 17 mazes and battle enemies, just like in an RPG. In the process you gain strength and abilities. You can also assimilate other infector's body parts. There are more than 60 different body parts to collect.

There is also a wireless multiplayer 'game' called Universal Destruction. This is less of a game than the communication between containment units. When a POX unit comes within 30' of another unit, the infectors will battle using Stealth Battling Technology. This takes place automatically, with no user imput. The winning infector will capture parts from the loosing one.
