A CD-ROM drive was released for the P.C. Engine in 1988. It was the first CD-ROM drive for a home console. In 1991 the Super CD System was released. It featured a double speed CD player and lots of RAM. The same year the Duo was released which was a combination of the P.C. Engine and the Super CD.
