BanDai Wonderswan

The Ban-Dai Wonderswan was released in Japan in 1999. It was one of the last black and white handhelds. A color version was released the following year. The Wonderswan crystal was released in 2002. It featured a brighter screen and more efficient power useage. None of the systems were released in the US. The Wonderswan is best known for games based on Ban-Dai characters such as Gundam. Updated versions of Final Fantasy were released.

The Wonderswan uses a 16-bit cpu running at 3.072MHz. It has 512K of RAM. The Wonderswan can produce 241 colors simultaneously from a pallete of pallete of 4096. It has a 2.1" reflective TFT LCD screen with a resolution of 224x144 pixels It features 4-channel stereo sound. The system runs on one AA battery. One of the more unusual accessories is the wonderborg robot that can be controlled with the Wonderswan.
