The X-Box was Microsoft's first video game system. It was released on November 2001. It is the first system to have a built in hard drive. Until the release of the X-Box 360 is was the most powerful home gaming system on the market. The X-box is powered by a custom Intel chip. The X-Box followed the lead of the N64 by including four controller ports. The original X-Box controller features a joypad and proportional thumbstick on the left side of the controller. The stick can be clicked as a button. The middle of the controller has a start and a select button. The right side of the controller has another proportional stick, four main buttons, and two smaller buttons. In addition the controller has two proportional triggers on the bottom. The controller also features a slot for a memory card. A smaller version of the controller was released. The smaller buttons were moved below the four main buttons.
